Why are my computer speakers crackling?

the speakers used to work completely fine but i had to move my computer to a new location and when i got everything back up and running the speakers started to crackle and kind of a staticy sound to them its not very loud and you cant hear it if music is playing. i turned down all the volume controls on the computer and that didnt do anything im guessing its just the speakers. any idea on to how to fix them?
