Is this a good telescope for a beginner?

be careful on ebay. do research, read up on the forums. Brand name is important with scopes. try to stick with meade, celestron and the like. Refractors are ok but not great. a good beginner scope for planetary viewing would be a newtonian or dobsonian 6" or 8"
