What are your opinions about "Requiem for a Dream" and "A Clockwork Orange"?

I've watched Requim for a Dream, I thought it was pretty good and very thought provoking, but my cousin suggested I watch A Clockwork Orange. He said it was very disturbing and he couldn't even finish the movie. I'm a big fan of psychological films and I was hoping for your thoughts on both films.
